Welcome to our lodging in Hermanus at The Mayflower!  Retired Master Mariner Graham Fenn and his wife, artist Jenny Bowes Meyer (owner of Eastbury Cottage), opened their two “upper deck cabins” at their new home in 2016.  Named after the Mayflower ship and a legendary fishing vessel in Hermanus, 18 Flower Street is in the heart of Hermanus.

We have solar power and a backup power system, so guests are not be affected by Eskom electricity load shedding

Each cabin sleeps 2 adults on king or twin beds and there is a double sleeper couch. (Regret no babies or children under 8 unless both cabins are booked by families travelling together)

The Port Side and Starboard Cabins at The Mayflower offer understated luxury lodging in Hermanus close to all amenities.  Walk to the seafront just 300m away and enjoy a stroll along the cliff paths with their spectacular views of Walker Bay.  Restaurants and Ficks Tidal Pool are almost a stone’s throw from The Mayflower….AND we have installed our own plunge pool.  It’s ready for a swim this summer!

The cabins are ideal for Dad and Mum in The Starboard and teenager kids in the the Port Side Cabin. Private entrance, off street parking and upstairs decks with a lovely view! See our floor plan below.

PORTSIDE CABIN GALLERY:

The Port and Starboard Cabins:

• Comfortable king or twin beds sleep 2 adults.  A sleeper couch is provided for 2 additional persons by request.
• Fully equipped light self-catering facilities with mini air fryer convection oven, microwave, induction plate, toaster, kettle and bar fridge.  A weber barbeque is provided on the deck
• Towels and linen provided as well as complimentary toiletries
• Off street parking and private entrance
• Free  fiber WiFi
• DVD player and library
• TV with full DSTV Channel bouquet
• Cabin rate for 2 persons sharing from R900-R1200pn (dependent on Season and length of stay) on a self catering basis.  Additional persons on sleeper couch - R250pppn. (Regret we do not accommodate babies and children under the age of 8 in the cabins UNLESS both cabins are booked by the same party travelling together)
• Usually a minimum of 2 nights over a weekend is required unless the Friday night has been previously booked… and 3 to 4 nights over a long weekend respectively

STARBOARD CABIN GALLERY:

We regret we cannot accommodate babies or children under 8 years unless BOTH CABINS are rented by family parties travelling together.   Adult children can be accommodated separately from Mum and Dad in the next door Cabin.

Cooking Facilities in each unit: Microwave, toaster, kettle, egg boiler, mini air fryer oven, induction plate, gas cooked and weber kettle braai.

Historically, the home of The Maple Leaf Bakery many years ago and run by the Mason Family, The Mayflower now stands recently renovated and proud in this quaint street, lined with fisherman’s cottages. Older locals will relate their stories of how they would wait in line at the bakery to buy their fresh bread each day while discussing their catch of the day!
