Hermanus, the capital of the Cape Whale Coast, proudly boasts the best land based whale watching in the world! You will be able to view the whales or have a chat with the world’s only Whale Crier while wandering along our famous and spectacular seafront cliff paths, just a short stroll from Eastbury Cottage. On quiet evenings you can hear the sound of the whales “blowing” from your room.

Hermanus is famous for its amazing Saturday morning Country Market and first Sundays Art in The Park with more than 60 local artist exhibiting affordable original artworks.
Interesting attractions like the Museums and Historic Buildings, Craft and Food Markets, Festivals, the Hermanus Wine Route, The Fernkloof Nature Reserve, quaint shops and gourmet restaurants will keep you very busy. Other enjoyable activities like browsing through Art Galleries, taking a flip over Walker Bay to count and spot the whales from the air, a boat based whale viewing trip or viewing great White Sharks from a cage, should definitely be on your list of things to do. For the energetic, sand boarding, surfing, fishing and extreme adventures like paragliding from the mountain top or slip-slide tours in the forest, are just some of the exciting things to do that you can choose from. Perhaps you enjoy the competitive side of sporting events in Hermanus? A cliff path night run, bike trails light house to light house walks and other sport challenges…we have them all.
